So after you distill the ethanol twice, it is ready to put in the gas tank? Or do you mix with gas, if so what percent?

I was using some Ethonal added to my gas. Its cheaper to make. .
All you need is water rotten doughnuts or rotten fruit. Most places will let you have that stuff free.
Some yeast and some elbow grease.
    Cheap and it works
Agree, its always a good idea to be careful.
    Thanks for the post.

Youre using pure ethanol for fuel in a car or generator ?

Well for those that do I guess youll get whats coming to you

Your ethanol doesnt seem to actually be much of a savings, in order to not contaminate the system you need to use distilled water, so thats a buck a gal itself. Current gas around $2.50 is safer and cheaper in the long run

Play with your chemistry set, but folks, be ever so careful …

Comments: Results: 2.5% alcohol. Acid hydrolysis is an alternative but expensive method.

Im uploading a video responce for you and others that have the same questions.
I used super filtered water called reverse osmosis I think thats how you spell it. LOL
But you can make thse filters from parts @ home depot. They also sell a kit to do it.
Thats what I have. I would never drink the water from the tap. My showers are also filtered. But this will give you the best grade water next to a distilled water.
It works very well for me. The video response will be up within the hour.

do you boil it before adding the yeast? what about the water? city/tap water with the chlorine? or distilled? I thought I’d have to boil it because of the additives in the city water! and maybe add the chlorine remover like you treat a fish aquarium!
how about a few drinks too!

thanks, I’m gonna head to the grocery store and try it!

  15. mixcatcom says:

Yeah its not expensive corn meal too.. I go to the latin market and get giant bags of it.
I use 2 of the yeast packets in the 5 gallon unit and sometimes let it sit 5 days if I still see action on it. On the 2nd day I roll the mash a little to mix it up good and then its rocking and rolling the next 2 days. ;o)
    Hope that helps,
    -Pete

  16. dbrannon79 says:

That’s great! 20% abv from bread yeast!! I have tried and only got 10%. I have to try the corn meal like you use!

    Thanks

  17. mixcatcom says:

I get slightly over a gallon. Per so I always have two 5 gallon drums of mash on hand.

First step is to make the mash..
That was what I explained in this video. Thats the corn / sugar / yeast mix.
4 days later you have to distill the mash.
    That will produce the Ethanol.
I will have a video on that soon.
Even how to make a still.
    Take care!
